Preventive Care
It is important to have your pet examined by your veterinarian at least once a year. Taking your pet to the veterinarian once a year is the human equivalent of going to your family physician once every five years. An annual physical examination, vaccination, stool analysis as well as a specialized diet, appropriate to the stage of life and the state of health of your animal, are key elements aiming to detect and prevent many health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services that will help ensure your pet lives a long and healthy life.
Medical Care
The Clinique Vétérinaire du Vieux-Longueuil is equipped with a laboratory as well as standard and dental radiograph systems enabling us to offer a complete diagnostic service. Our expertise allows us to diagnose and treat a variety of pathologies. Should your animal present a rarer or more complicated pathology, we will not hesitate to refer you to the appropriate specialist in order to help us better treat our little patient.
Surgical Care
Our surgical care unit provides a wide variety of surgical procedures in the areas of elective surgery, dentistry, general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, urinary surgery and ophthalmology.
Should your animal undergo general anesthesia, it is important not to underestimate its inherent risks, regardless of the procedure performed. We will always make sure to inform you of associated risks and necessary precautions, as well as ensure that we use the safest protocols for our patients.
Behaviour Consultation
We are happy to be able to offer a behaviour service thanks to the expertise of Dr Tamara Gagnon and Joannie Gardner, animal health technician. If you have any concerns regarding your pet’s behaviour, be it anxiety issues, aggression, compulsive disorders or cleanliness issues, do not hesitate to book an appointment! Following a detailed evaluation, Dr Gagnon will establish a precise treatment plan for your companion, including behaviour therapy and, in certain cases, medication. Regular follow-ups will be performed by Joannie to monitor the evolution and ensure your animal’s positive response to treatment.
Other Care
We offer a boarding service for cats only. Each cat is provided with a condo-style cage with a sleeping area separate from the litter box. Cages are independently ventilated. All our residents receive special attention from our staff and are taken out daily to stretch their legs!
They will be monitored daily to detect any abnormality, should any arise.
Our grooming service under general anesthesia is restricted to cats whose coat is in such condition that it is impossible to untangle or shave without risking injury. Cats whose anxiety level preclude a safe visit to a groomer can also benefit from this service.
